Trauma therapy, also known as trauma-informed therapy, is a specialized approach to helping individuals heal from emotional wounds and distressing experiences. This evidence-based therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for clients to process and integrate their traumatic experiences, ultimately promoting healing, resilience, and improved mental well-being.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a powerful, evidence-based approach to treating trauma, anxiety, and other emotional distress. During EMDR sessions, a trained therapist guides clients through the reprocessing of distressing memories by using bilateral stimulation through eye movements following a light bar. This unique therapeutic method helps individuals process and heal from past traumatic experiences, allowing them to integrate these memories in a healthier way and reduce the emotional distress associated with them. EMDR offers hope and relief for those seeking to overcome trauma and regain emotional well-being. We have psychologists specially trained in EMDR for children and adolescents.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach for trauma recovery. It helps individuals by addressing negative thought patterns and behaviours stemming from traumatic experiences. Through structured sessions, people learn coping skills, reframe distorted beliefs, and gradually process their trauma, promoting emotional healing and a healthier outlook on life

We have psychologists who are approved providers for Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and Workers' Compensation Board (WCB). Please contact us if you would like more information on how this works.
